We show how practised solidarity works

The spread of the Covid-19 is keeping the world on alert - including Germany. The measures adopted restrict public life in many ways in order to protect important infrastructures, but especially the health care system, from being overloaded. It has become clear in recent days that this crisis cannot be solved with bans alone. What is now needed is a community based on solidarity to help those who have problems to look after themselves in the current situation. But where does solidarity begin and where does it make sense?

We as members of the SPD and part of the Rote Elster in Algermissen want to show it. With our recently launched campaign "Helping not hoarding", we want to help the citizens of our community. In concrete terms, we want to be a support for people who are not able to go out into the public: be it for a walk to the post office or a purchase. So if you have urgent things to do but cannot, may not or do not dare to go out in public, you can contact our members Lukas Schlemeyer, Eike Albrecht or Jan Krause by phone and tell them what we can do for you. For your and our own protection there will be no personal exchange. Instead, all contacts will be handled by telephone or whatsapp.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for help. Somewhere we have to start with common care and we are ready to make the first step with you.

We are a small community and would like to prove that even in difficult times we bravely stick together.
